Receiving Support

We welcome any parents or guardians whose primary address is in one of the following areas HP5, HP6, HP7, HP8, HP16, SL9, to register with us for support at Christmas. We can only accept those living in those postcodes as we are a small local charity and we rely on local volunteers to be able to deliver the toys and gifts. If you live in another postcode we’d suggest you contact your local Citizens Advice who can help you find another local scheme in your area.

We open registration for support once a year and this is usually towards the end of October. We’ll advertise when our registration scheme will open on our website and social media pages, so please do follow us. You can also sign up to our mailing list to hear when we open registration.

What happens when I register?

Step 1

You will be directed to fill out an online form. This will ask for your details, as well as the details of your child/children, including their likes and dislikes. This form is how we’ll contact you over the Christmas period, so please make sure you fill out your email address and telephone number very carefully. Once you’ve submitted your form you’ll get an email to confirm we’ve received it.

Step 2

Our Elves will start to pick and pack toys and gifts in November. When your toys are ready to deliver you’ll receive a text message from us. This could be at the end of November or the beginning of December, so please don’t worry if you don’t hear from us before then, we’ll be working as quickly as we can to get everything ready. The text message you receive will ask for some days and times our Elves could deliver to you.

When you let us know days and times, please try to be as flexible as you can. We’re reliant on volunteers to deliver and so cannot guarantee very specific days and times. For example “Monday afternoons, not Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings” is better than “Thursday 20th 9.30-11”.

Step 3

When the Elf delivers to you they will try to be mindful of whether your family may be around to see the delivery. We’ll do the best we can to let you know when they’re on their way.

Step 4

When you receive your delivery you will get stocking fillers for any child over 3 (this will be some small toys and toiletries), wrapping paper and Sellotape. We endeavour to check and replace any batteries in electronic toys before they come out to you.

Step 5

You’ll be asked to sign for the delivery. This means the toys then become yours to give, or hold on to for another occasion. Please keep in mind you will receive a mix of new and used gifts. We try our absolute best to make sure that every gift is in full working order, when it is delivered to you.

Step 6

You will then receive a feedback survey by email from us in January. We’d love to hear your feedback and make sure everything works out brilliantly on the big day!
